Dr G Vinod Kumar new AMAI president; Dr Rejith Anand general secretary
Academician Dr G Vinod Kumar of Thiruvananthapuram zone and Dr Rejith Anand from Kollam have been elected president and general secretary, respectively, of the Ayurvedic Medical Association of India (AMAI).
Among the other office-bearers, Dr A Ramachandran has been elected treasurer, Dr C B Juston Jose as vice president, and Dr D Sheela, Dr A P Sreekumar and Dr Shafi Tashkent as the new secretaries. The election was held on the first day of the AMAI state conference held in Kozhikode in Kerala last week.
This year the association has formed a separate State Women Sub Committee with Dr P K Lalitha as chairperson and Dr Usha K Puthumana as its convener.
Dr M Sanil Kumar has been given the assignment of chief editor to the association’s monthly organ, ‘Apta’. Dr K Syam Lal is the managing editor.
The association has made organizational restructure from this year dividing the entire jurisdiction into four zones. Dr K Gopakumar and Dr K B Somarajan Pillai will act as the president and the secretary of Thiruvananthapuram zone.
Dr Roy B Unnithan is the president of Ernakulam zone and Dr Joson Jacob is its secretary. Dr E K Ramanandan and Dr Manzoor Ali Gurukkal will lead the Thrissur zone and Dr Mohammed Razi and Dr N Rajesh have been elected office-bearers for Kozhikode zone.
The six new executive committee members are Dr V G Udayakumar (CCIM Member), Dr T A Salim, Dr T Gopinathan, Dr P Mohanan, Dr Liju Mathew and Dr P K Haridas.
Dr Ram Mohan and Dr K G Viswanathan, both CCIM members, will attend the executive meetings as special invitees.
